Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests

Aziz Akhannouch who was appointed Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries by His Majesty the King Mohammed VI, was born in 1961 in Tafraout. He is a member of the Municipal Council of Tafraout and was Presidentof the Souss Massa Draa Region from 2003 to 2007.

Holder of a Masters in Management from the University of Sherbrooke in Canada in 1986, Mr. Akhannouch is the President of Akwa Group, a holding company that comprises more than fifty companies, primarily in the hydrocarbon, communication and services.

Alongside his ministerial duties, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch held several managerial and associative responsibilities. He is a member of the office of The General Confederation of Moroccan Companies (CGEM), Administrator of BMCE-Bank and Administrator of the Academia Foundation.

Mr Akhannouch was also an Administrator of Bank Al Maghrib and chaired the Moroccan Petroleum Grouping (GPM). In 1999, he was part of the think tank of the late HM King Hassan II, commonly called G14.

At the associative level, Mr Aziz Akhannouch is a member of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection and Administrator Member of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the detainees' reintegration. He is also President of the Association of Concert for Tolerance.

Mr Akhannouch is married with three children.
